Hi there! As you’ve probably guessed, I’m Japanese — originally from Kyoto. If you’ve ever been to Kyoto, you’ve probably visited the Golden Temple (Kinkaku-ji). Believe it or not, that was basically my childhood playground. Not a bad backyard, right?

I moved to Sydney in 1996, thinking I’d stay for maybe a year… and somehow, here I am, 30 years later, still photographing weddings and loving every minute of it.

I started my photography journey back in the mid-’90s, when we all used film cameras. To this day, I have no idea how we photographed entire weddings without being able to check the tiny screen on the back — mainly because there was no tiny screen on the back! You’d shoot all day, drop the rolls off at the lab, and then spend the next 24 hours hoping you hadn’t accidentally focused on a tree instead of the couple. Truly character-building stuff!

Since then, I’ve survived three generations of camera technology — film, digital and now mirrorless. And honestly, I’m glad I started with film. People say it makes you a better photographer… or maybe it just gave me nerves of steel. Either way, I’ll take it!

I’ve gotta say — I truly love my job. I still feel incredibly lucky that my passion became my career. There’s nothing better than seeing couples light up when they receive their wedding photos. And even after over 25 years in the industry, weddings are still my absolute favourite moments to capture.

For the past 15 years or so, I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside a small but amazing team of wedding photographers and videographers. We even hang out together outside work! They’re not just talented — they’re genuinely good humans. They feel more like family than colleagues, and I’m grateful to have every one of them by my side.

And yes, we giggle a lot on the job. You’ll see that on your wedding day! Maybe that’s one of the reasons our photos feel so natural. We blend in, have a laugh and feel more like one of your guests than a team of photographers and videographers following you around all day. That way, you can relax, enjoy yourselves and have fun with us while we capture all those genuine moments and cool photos along the way. It’s a win-win! That’s how we roll.

I’m not going to chase you down or try to lock you into a booking when we meet. I’m pretty chilled about these things. If we click and you love my work, fantastic! At the end of the day, I want to photograph couples who genuinely love my work, appreciate what I do and feel comfortable having me around on their wedding day. And once you book me, you have my word that I’ll give you 100% of myself, from the moment we first chat until your photos are delivered.

That’s how I run my little business. Just me, doing what I love, alongside a team of people I love working with, capturing one of the most important days of your lives.

And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way!
