FAQs

We've gathered some of the questions we're asked most often.
If you don't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to drop us a message!

When will our photos be ready after our wedding?

Your wedding photos will be ready within 4 weeks from your wedding day. Once your wedding photos are beautifully edited,
we will send you a download link via email, allowing you to easily download all your wedding photos at your convenience when you're at home. The photos will be high-resolution images in JPEG format, without any logos. This allows you to print or create your own albums or post them on Instagram.

When do we need to select our wedding package?

There's no rush for this. We understand that you're probably still in the early stages of planning your wedding, so you don't need to select your package until 2 weeks before your wedding day. By then, you'll have a better idea of your wedding schedule, making it easier for you to choose the most suitable package. However, please make sure to secure us SUPER EARLY, as our weekends get booked out 1 to 2 years in advance!

Do you offer wedding video?

Absolutely! We have had a dedicated team of wedding videographers working with us for many years. Our wedding videography style aligns with our still photography, focusing on a documentary-style approach. We aim to capture natural, candid, relaxed, and fun moments. If you love our wedding photos, you'll certainly adore our wedding videos as well. Feel free to visit our videography page for more details.

Will we have an opportunity to meet up before we book you?

Yes, of course! We would be more than happy to meet up with you before you book us. We can arrange a meeting in person and have a chat over coffee in Surry Hills. Alternatively, if it's more convenient for you, we can also have a Zoom chat.

What time do you normally stay until?

We usually finish up around 9pm or so, coinciding with your first dance. By then, all your formalities will be completed, and the dance floor will be open!

Any other questions?

How do you travel on our wedding day?

Typically, we kindly request our couples to give our photographer a lift from the starting point to the ceremony, the location photoshoots, and the reception venue. Katsu possibly using his scooter to follow you around!

Is there any advice from you?

When you meet your Marriage Celebrant, please let him/her know that you would like to face your family and guests during the ceremony. We have noticed that many Marriage Celebrants intend to stand between you and your partner the entire time, which means we can only photograph your back or shoulders. Your Marriage Celebrant should be standing at the end of your bridal party, facing your guests as well.

Is there anything you don’t recommend?

We advise against hiring two different companies for photography and videography, especially if they have different styles and approaches toward couples. Photographers and videographers must work well together as a team on your wedding day. It can make it challenging for us (and them) to do our jobs effectively, which may affect the quality of your photos and videos.

What is Private Online Gallery?

When you choose our “Complete Package”, you will receive a complimentary online gallery for 12 months. The gallery allows you to share your wedding photos with your family and love ones easily. All you need to do is send the link and a password to your loved ones. So they can view and download any photos that they like. Easy for you and easy for them. Here is a sample online gallery.

Do you need us to send you a list of family photos that we want?

Sure, you can send us a list of people you would like to photograph with, but it's not necessary. We understand that we may not know all the specific individuals such as your cousins, work colleagues, or friends from university just from a list.
To make things easier, we usually ask our couples to designate one family member who can call out and organise the family photos. Rest assured, we will be there to assist as well!

Do you need anything from us?

It would be amazing if you could send us the run sheet and a list of our bridal party's names, as well as the other wedding suppliers you have booked for your special day. This way, we will know what's happening and who we are working with.
Most likely, your wedding suppliers that you have booked are our friends!

We are camera shy and we don’t know how to pose. Can you still take good photos of us?

Absolutely no need to worry at all! We completely understand that 99% of our couples may feel camera shy or have never been professionally photographed before. Our friendly team will be there to guide you throughout the day, directing you on where to stand, how to pose, and where to look. Our goal is for you to have a lot of fun on your big day so that we can capture those natural and candid moments while you're simply enjoying the moment, without even noticing!

Can’t find your questions here?

How many photographers / videographers do we get?

Typically, we photograph all weddings solo unless the wedding is on a larger scale (over 300 guests). For big weddings, we offer a second photographer as an additional option to ensure comprehensive coverage.

When it comes to wedding videos, we always have a team of two videographers. In our wedding videography packages, you will receive a complimentary second videographer from the ceremony to the first dance, ensuring that we capture every single moment on your wedding day.

Do you only photograph weddings?

Around 80% of our work revolves around wedding photography and videography. However, to keep things exciting, we also photograph corporate events and government events during the week. Additionally, we have the opportunity to work with renowned publications like The New York Times and other online media outlets on the side.

How many photos do we receive?

We always say, 'The more fun you have at your wedding, the more photos you will receive,' because we capture the moments. Typically, you will receive around 100 photos per hour. So, if you book us for 8 hours, you will receive 800 photos or more.

Do you know any other good wedding suppliers? Make-up artists, florists or Celebrants?

Absolutely! When you book us, we will send you with a list of our favourite wedding suppliers whom we have worked with in the past. We do this for all our couples because we genuinely want you to secure fantastic wedding suppliers for your special day and working with trusted suppliers that we know ensures that your wedding day runs seamlessly. It's a win-win situation for both you and us!

Will you be the one photographing our wedding?

Yes, indeed! Katsu will be your photographer capturing your wedding, unless Katsu is already booked for another job.
In the event that Katsu is unavailable, we have a dedicated team of professional wedding photographers who work with us for years to ensure your special day is beautifully documented.

We are only having a little ceremony just us and 2 witnesses. Can you photograph our ceremony and take some photos of us after the ceremony?

Of course! Typically, a little ceremony runs for about 15 - 20 minutes only. We can visit your favorite spots for photos before or after your intimate ceremony. For more details, please check out our Elopements Page.

Can we request to re-edit our photos and videos after we receive our photos and videos?

While it is highly uncommon, we understand that circumstances may arise where you would like to request re-editing of your photos and videos. In such a rare situation, we are happy to offer one complimentary post-production session for both the photos and videos. However, for any subsequent edits beyond the first one, an additional fee of $950 will be applied.

How much time do you need for our photos on our wedding day?

Ideally, we would like to allocate:

- Groom getting ready: 1 hour

- Bride getting ready: 1.5 hours

- Ceremony: 20-30 minutes

- Group photos and family photos immediately after the ceremony: 30 minutes

- Location photos: 1-2 hours

If you are getting ready together in the same room, we would like to have 2 hours to photograph both of you.
We would prefer your hair and makeup artists to be gone when we arrive at your place or hotel room for getting ready photos.
