Wedding planning in Langkawi

Wedding planning in Langkawi

I had an opportunity to photograph another wedding in Langkawi, Malaysia last weekend.

Although I am usually based in Sydney Australia, I travel around Asia (Mainly Malaysia, Thai and Japan) between May to August to photograph weddings when Sydney’s cold in winter.  Yes, I am not a winter person and trying to avoid as much as I can.

I am actually writing this blog from my rented apartment in Kuala Lumper in Malaysia.

My Australian client Bec and Dave booked me over a year ago through my previous client (bride) who is mother of two now.

Since both Bec and Dave are from Sydney, I have met them at the cafe in Surry Hills to discuss their wedding in Langkawi this time last year. I remember that they have asked me where is the good place to get married in Langkawi then.
They have just started to plan their wedding there.

Since most of people get married on the private beach or pool deck area at the resort hotel, I have recommended them to have their ceremony and the reception party at 5 stars hotel there.

My favourite has to be Andaman Resort where I always stay when I visit there for holiday and wedding photos.

Their hotel resort is in the jungle and you will see a lot of animals like monkeys, flying fox, big lizards or hawks. Their hotel is massive and it’s a full of nature.
Of course the ocean is right in front of you and the sunset there is just stunning!

Langkawi is only one hour flight from KL.

Their wedding was on Saturday and I arrived their Friday morning, so I can enjoy beautiful island before their wedding day.

We had a quick chat at the hotel lobby and make sure what to photograph on the day.
Bec & Dave gave me the agenda, so I will know what’s happening on their wedding day.

It’s gong to be a big day!!!!!

Your wedding in Malaysia, Thailand and Bali

When you plan your wedding in overseas, it can be tricky.

It’s just because a lot of time, you would not know any wedding suppliers in the country where you are planning to have your wedding.

Not only that, you might also have problems to communicate with your favourite wedding suppliers especially in the place like Thailand or Bali.

I was living in Bangkok, Thailand for 2 years from 2014 – 2016. Now I am back in Sydney. But I am setting up a little wedding photography business based in KL Malaysia now.

So I can live half of the year in Sydney when I am busy with photographing weddings in Sydney’s spring and summer. In winter, I moved to KL or Bangkok to photograph Destination Wedding in Langkawi, Phuket, Pipi, Koh Samui or Bali.

My popular destinations are Phuket, Langkawi and Bali. A lot of my clients are from Australia!!

If you are planing to have your wedding in overseas in the places like Malaysia or Thailand or Bali, please contact me to check my availability.

– Award-winning wedding photographer in Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Pulau Ledang, Lumut, Penang, Tioman –

Over the last few years, having destination weddings in Malaysia has been very popular for those who would like to combined wedding and honeymoon.

The most popular designation in Malaysia?
It has to be Langkawi!
When I photographed there it was just amazing! That’s all I can say.

They have got many beautiful hotel resorts. And my favourite has to be  St Regis Hotel Langkawi. The hotel has private beach where you can have your ceremony and the decoration and foods are amazing, too.

I am a Japanese Australian wedding photographer based in both Sydney and Kuala Lumper for your destination wedding photography.

Most of the couples that I have photographed are Australians who probably feels more comfortable as I am also an Australian.

People usually book me 6 months to 1 year in advance to secure me so I can make sure that I will be there for their special day.

I usually meet them a day before to make sure that we are on the same page in terms of photography style. Although my style is natural and candid. I would like to find out what kinds of photos that they would like to have.

If you have set the date for your wedding in those islands (Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Pulau Ledang, Lumut, Penang, Tioman) or Kuala Lumper but has not found your photographer, please contact Katsu to check his availability.

I can guarantee you that you will have beautiful sunset shots, also!

I am more than happy to chat on Skype if you would like to ask any questions about your planning!
